Candida Albicans
The Anti Candida Diet
There are some practitioners that actually use a candida diet to address the overgrowth of Candida. There are also certain guidelines that you
should follow if you have Candida overgrowth.
First, you are going to want to avoid sugar. If you take a look at the research that has been
done in the past, sugar is known to promote the actual growth of yeast. There may be times that the total amount of carbohydrates that you take
in each day is limited.
However, it all depends on your age, activity level, health, and sensitivities to food. The foods that have low levels of carbohydrates may be
emphasized instead - meat, turkey, chicken, vegetables that are not starchy, shellfish and specific nuts. As the symptoms begin to subside, the
total carbohydrates for the diet are increased gradually, normally.
Secondly, you need to make sure that you avoid foods that contain any form of yeast. This means
that you need to avoid fermented foods which would be bread that is created with yeast, tomato paste, cheese, beer and mushrooms.
Now, the period of the time that an individual is taking part in a Candida diet all depends on the actual period of time that an individual
has had the symptoms as well as the overall severity of the main symptoms. When recommending a treatment plan, the typical level of health is
really another significant factor to the practitioners.
People that are happy with the anti candida diet say that it normally takes no less than four weeks to notice any improvement. However, for
many patients, it may take a couple of months. Once the practitioner has seen vast improvement in the symptoms overall, he will begin to slowly
reintroduced the foods that are restricted back into the individual diet.
Herbs and Supplements in an anti-candida-diet
Herbs and supplements are also recommended to actually decrease the exact amount of Candida yeast that is present in the human body.
The alternative practitioners normally recommend that you start with a smaller amount of herb and supplements and then increase the amount
that you are taking gradually. If you do not follow this recommendation, you will see that Herxheimer reaction may occur which is a
worsening - this is temporary – of the symptoms which occur with the yeast dying off.
This is known to be the result when the Candida yeast is killed and as a result, they release toxins as well as protein fragments that are
known to trigger a form of an antibody response from the immune system.
