The Effects Of Cleansing
Time was many hundreds of years ago when the body didn’t really need cleansing. Like most other living creatures, man followed the dictates of
Nature and ate only when he was hungry and his digestive system was not overloaded or overworked. What he ate was filled with nutrition and did
not contain useless calories or chemicals.
Cut to present day digestive systems. We ingest toxins from the food we eat, the water we drink, the drugs we take to cure us and the air we
breathe. Everything around us seems to be saturated with toxic substances and we keep putting in more and more into out bodies.
The only way we can break this cycle and return to some degree of normalcy is with fasting. Fasting
cleanses the system and in today’s world, we need to do it on a regular and not on a one-off basis.
Our bodies - full of toxins
How does our body handle toxins? It eliminates them, it neutralizes them or it transforms them. How does it get eliminated? Well, through the
organs involved in the elimination process like the skin, the kidneys, the bladder and the colon. What also
gets flushed out are the dead cells, the hardened matter on the walls of the intestine, the excess fatty tissue, the mucus that builds up in our
body and the excess cholesterol.
In a deeper fast, the toxins that are stuck deep inside the organs and the tissues are drawn out and then eliminated. These could be years of
toxic waste that has been entrenched in your body.
What does this process of cleansing through fasting achieve? Well, there are various benefits for various levels of fasting. The first benefit
will probably be noticed in the fitness levels.
You feel lighter and more active. Then the weight starts dropping but not endlessly – only up to healthy levels, providing of course that
fasting does not become an addiction and is done in a practical way. You start breathing better, you start feeling more upbeat and the organs
start performing better.
It shows on the skin – wrinkles are less noticeable and the skin becomes soft and elastic. Of course, in a deeper fast, diseases start getting
cured.
With fasting, we are actually returning to out pristine, natural state where man lived in harmony with Nature and therefore enjoyed optimum
health and fitness.
Today, we have the power of cleansing our bodies within our grasp. All we need to do is to reach out and use this knowledge to get us back on
track again.
It’s only the first couple of times that it is hard because we are entering unfamiliar territory. Once we get into that zone and realize its
benefits, it is a place that you will want to go back to again and again.
